Organic synthesis featuring elementary particle
We utilize various elements for developing synthetic chemistry that is quite important to produce many useful compounds. In addition, we are investigating organic radical reactions by using muon. Muon is a light isotope of proton, and the spin of I=1/2 is applicable to monitor chemical events in substrates. Muon spin spectroscopy will be able to monitor novel organic reactions and properties of organic molecules. The novel findings obtained by using muon would not be found easily by ordinary chemical methods.
